About the Department

Empowering Future Innovators Through Excellence in Education

Established in 2001, the Department of Computer Applications at SSTC is dedicated to equipping students with cutting-edge skills and knowledge that significantly enhance their employability in the rapidly evolving tech industry.

Our two-year postgraduate program (MCA) features a well-rounded curriculum that spans core computer science fundamentals and the latest technological advancements. Students receive in-depth, hands-on training in a wide range of subjects including data structures, databases, programming, operating systems, computer networks, software engineering, web technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cloud computing, and cyber security.

A hallmark of the program is the mandatory industrial training in the fourth semester, designed to provide students with real-world exposure through internships in leading IT companies.

The department is supported by a team of highly qualified and passionate faculty members engaged in impactful teaching and research across areas like artificial intelligence, change management through technical interventions, and image processing. Many faculty members also bring valuable industry experience, helping to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application.

By integrating academic excellence with industry relevance, we ensure our students are well-prepared, job-ready, and aligned with current trends in technology.

Programme Specific Outcome (PSOs) for P.G. Programme

  • Preparation: To prepare students for productive carriers in IT and IT related industries by providing an effective teaching environment in the core and emerging areas of discipline.
  • Core Competence : To provide students a thorough and sound background in theoretical and application oriented courses relevant to the latest development in software paradigm.
  • Breadth : To develop the student’s ability to apply software technology in solving mathematical, computing, communication/networking and commercial problems with ability to work in multidisciplinary environment., and an ability to relate computer application issues to broader social context.

Programme Outcome (POs) for P.G. Programme

  • Student will have analytic and computer science foundation, learn fundamental computing and mathematical functions and understand how these technologies and functions integrate into Information Communication & Technology and business environment.
  • Students will have the ability to recognize and formulate the problem statement.
