The Department of Electronics & Computer Engineering has been established in the year 2001 and is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University and AICTE, New Delhi. It is credited being the first in state to be accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE in the year 2006 to till now. The Department of Electrical and Electronics has established Automation Lab as SIEMENS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE, the first in Central India and also has First Testing Laboratory in the State of Chhattisgarh for Testing of Dissolved Gases in Transformer Oils.
The dynamic faculties who are a blend of experience and knowledge are actively engaged in research, consultancy and testing in the area of Electrical Engineering. They are also invited as key note speakers to deliver lectures in the workshops, conferences and seminars of repute in and around the country.
The students of the department have exhibited an all-round performance. They have been offered remarkable placements through on/off campus selection in Electrical Power Generation, Automotive and Control Industries, Mining and Allied Industries, Instrumentation and Software Industries, as well as in Manufacturing, Marketing and Business Management Industries, Public Sectors, Steel Industries, Oil and Natural Gas Industries, Railways, and other Government Organizations.

The Electronics & Computer Engineering program is designed to provide its graduate a solid educational foundation on which they can build successful and sustainable career in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
The mission of the Department of Electronics & Computer Engineering is to serve the society by preparing undergraduates and graduate students for professional practice as successful engineers, by providing continuing education opportunities and by making original contributions to the art of engineering.

Department of Electrical and Electronics conducted 2-days Hands-on training programme for PCB design and prototype development process on 12th and 13th April 2022. EEE students of 4th, 6th and 8th Semester participated in this workshop. In this training programme total 25 students of EEE participated.
The second IEEE 2022, annual conference of IEEE MP Section was organized in association with Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus, Bhilai in hybrid mode. The theme of the conference was Advances in Electrical, Computing, Communications and Sustainable Technologies. The first two days of the conference was dedicated to the pre-conference workshops. was the conference inauguration followed by keynote sessions and paper presentation in presence of honorable chief guest. IEEE Student Branch Second International Conference on Advancing Electrical, Computing, Communication and Sustainable Technology (ICAECT 2022) was inaugurated in a hybrid mode on April 21st, 2022 in the presence of honorable chief guest Dr. M. K. Verma Vice Chancellor CSVTU, Mrs.Jaya Mishra, President SSTC, Dr. P.B. Deshmukh, Director SSTC, Dr. Shimpy Ralhan, Branch Counsellor IEEE SSTC, workshop speakers, and participants. The inauguration program is also graced by the presence of Dr. Rajshri Jain, Secretary IEEE India Conscile 2021 Professor Symbosis Institute of Computers Studies and Research, Pune, India, Dr. Pooja Jain Department of Computer Sciences and Engineering Indian Institute of Information Technology, Nagpur, India workshops speakers, and participants. The inaugural program started with a welcome speech by Dr. P. B. Deshmukh, Director of SSTC, Bhilai. He greet and appreciate everyone to be the part of our International Conference. Dr. Shimpy Ralhan, Branch Councilor IEEE Student Branch SSTC and Confrence Head give brief about the conference. She briefed about that the conference received 200 papers out of 60 paper were accepted for presentation under different tracks. Total 6 keynote session and 2 workshop were planned during conference. There were different tracks development and trends in Electrical, Computer Engineering, and promote foster Communication amoung researcher's and partitioners.
Department of Electronics & Computer Engineering organized an IPR awareness programme in association with National IP Awareness Mission and IEEE Student Branch, SSTC on 13th April 2022. Department of Promortion of Industries and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India has launched a National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) under the initiative of the Govt. “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
A three days Finale of Toycathon-2021 Digital edition was successfully conducted at Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus, Bhilai . It is a matter of pride that Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus from Bhilai Chhattisgarh has been selected by All India Council for Technical Education and Government of India for organizing the Grand Finale Toycathon-2021 of Digital Edition. It is notable that Grand Finale continuous two days 22nd and 23rd June 2021 and on 24th June 2021 The Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi Ji had interact with some selected teams. After Prime minister’s interaction two days result have been declared and top 400 teams were shortlisted for the Power Judging round. Again it is notable that the Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus, Bhilai again selected as one of the leading Nodal Center in Central India by the AICTE for power Judging Round of Toycathon-2021. Total 8 teams were allocated for Power Judging Round at this centre. The final result was declared on 25th June, where 117 teams are declared as winners of Toycathon-2021 of digital edition. Out of 117 winner teams, 7 teams are from Shri Shankaracharya Technical Campus Bhilai- Nodal Center.
