Department of Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering Department came into existence in the year 2001. Its initial intake of 60 students. The intake has been increased to 120 in 2006. In addition the students are admitted through lateral entry & fee waiver scheme in 3rd semester. The department runs second shift with capacity of 60 since 2010. In addition the department runs three full time post graduate courses in Mechanical Design, Thermal Engineering & Production Engineering with maximum intake of 18 students in each.

Mechanical is the mother of all engineering. The back bone of the department is its well established laboratories starting from Mechanical workshop which has all the facilities which an industry generally have. Department has all important design softwares vide; FLUID DYNAMICS (CFD-POST, CFX, FLUENT, POLY FLOW), ICEM CFD MECHANICAL APDL ANSYS, TURBOGRID, WORKBENCH. In the year 2008-2009 Department has received grant of Rs.12 lacs for moderniztion of IC Engine Lab from AICTE & Rs. 7.6 lacs in the year 2010-2011. The Department of Mechanical Engineering regularly organize various extra-curricular activities, cultural events and excursion, conducive in creating a congenial atmosphere.
- 5 user CFD & ANSYS software is available for designing and research.
- 3D printer is available for research.
- Exhaust Gas Analyzer is to perform research in the field of IC engines.
- Vibration analyzer kit is available for research by ME scholars.
- Creo (Advanced Version) & NX4 softwares.
- Prepare effective and responsible graduate engineers for global requirements by providing quality education.
- Upgrade existing labs of department and establishing Mordrobe in various fields.
- To promote problem based learning in the department to meet requirements of industries.
- To strengthen sponsored Research Projects in collaboration with AICTE.
- To achieve the target of total faculty with qualification of PhD in the relevant field.
