Make A Thon 2020

Make-A-Thon 2020 is a fast paced 18-hour event where students and designers collaborate for limited time to develop creative and innovative solutions focused on the theme. This programme will provide the national ground for the technical aspirants of various institutions. It will make the participants aware about the need to introduce new technology. Participants will be able to express, create and innovate the ideas among themselves participants will be exposed to the intense competition which will lead to stress management.

This program involves inclusion of all the Student Branches which shall together host the activity involving volunteers in distributed proportion from both categories of SBs and also shall invite distinguished and prominent leads of Industry and other institutional bodies to focus out multiple activities such as panel discussions, technical talks and seminars, workshops and networking sessions. This will witness participation of about 200 candidates with the model of 1 day long activity which shall be witnessing a vast participation from students.

Rules for preliminary round

  • 1. Every registered team will have to prepare a 10 min power point presentation based on the theme they chose & basic detail of their proposed solution.
  • 2. No need to bring any hardware.
  • 3. If not possible for all the team members to be present for preliminary round then minimum two members has to be there.
  • 4. For the teams from state other than Chhattisgarh preliminary round will be held through Skype/Google Duo.
  • 5. Judgment will be based on novelty and feasibility of your idea.
  • 6. Judge’s decision will be final.
  • 7. Shortlisted teams will be informed by 5th January 2020.
  • 8. No travelling allowance will be provided

Evaluation

Judgment of the preliminary round will be based on feasibility and novelty of your idea. In the event finale judges will evaluate your solution based on their Innovation (creative ability), Make/build quality (robustness and clarity of connection), Engineering (does it work), budget(how much it cost),Empathy(Social Relevance).

FAQ

What’s the challenge?
The event will take place for a span of 18 hrs, with the theme already revealed and participants forming competing teams. Its about staying focused, finding an idea quickly and, of course, making sure it is well executed. It’s collective thinking together.
You register as a team of 3-5 members to make anything your heart desires. Registered teams will give a presentation on their desired topic. Short listed teams after presentation will further proceed to execute their idea in a span of 24 hours. Final evaluation will done by the jury.
“Makers” from all backgrounds- all undergraduate, graduate and school students (11th and 12th grade) are welcome to participate, Diploma With UG PG and School.
A think and do attitude is all that’s required. Some code, Some design- bring whatever skills you have. Collaboration will take care of the rest.
Yes. It is a 18 hr event, participants hone their maker skills by solving engineering challenges.
Registered teams will appear for preliminary round of competition i.e. presentation on your idea on 2nd and 3rd january. The selected teams will participate in the event finale. Make-A-Thon 2020 finale will begin on 27/1/2020 afternoon. We’ll have inaugural session and more details about event logistics. From there, you’ll be off and running to develop your solution with your team. You will have until 28/1/2020 morning to submit your solution for judgment. Our panel of industry experts and academician will evaluate your project. You’ll have the opportunity to explain your ideas to judges and answer questions. By mid-afternoon, we’ll announce the winning teams and start awarding prizes.
Yes, Worth Rs.1.5 Lacs
You don’t have to be a coder or a master of all things technology. Someone else on your team may have skills in that area.
Do i have to register as an individual or a team?
You register as a team. Teams must consist of minimum three and maximum five people.
You need to bring your laptop and all the electrical and mechanical components to execute your idea. Also, if you have a certain set of tools that you like to use, please feel free to bring them as well.
