NSS Volunteers Aakash Naskar student of Mechanical Engineering 6th semester of SSGI attended the National Integration Camp held in Bareliy. A routine was selected for the volunteers in which they were supposed to do Prabhat Pheri, yoga, and daily tasks given to them. A session of Intellectual Discourse was held every afternoon, a traditional cultural performance from every state was also staged every evening. Camp started with deep prajwalan and the addressing of the camp trainer and the POs introducing their own states. A task for shramdan, stage decoration, cultural event, prabhat pheri and various other program was given to different state teams. In the part of cultural program Chhattisgarh state gave 3 dance performances showing their rich heritage and a song was presented by volunteer Aakash Naskar.
NSS Volunteer Naveen Sahu, student of ETC Engg. 8th semester and Aditya Salame, student of Civil Engg, 8th semester of SSGI attended the National Integration Camp held in Mohali, Punjab. A poster making competition was held in which the NSS volunteers of different states presented their culture in the form of posters. .In the declamation competition, the volunteers AdityaSalame & Naveen Kumar Sahu took part. During the cultural performance team, Chattishgarh presented jasgeet which is our traditional way to worshiping goddess Durga. Slogan writing competition and Rangoli making competition has also organized The teams according to the schedule and their turn prepared and served the lunch and dinner at the time given. An awareness rally was also organized to make the people aware about various social issues.
NSS volunteer Pankaj Pradhan, Nidhi Sahu, Deepesh, Shriya Vaishnaw and Swati Dhote of Shri Shankaracharya Group of Institutions, Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, participated in the state level seven days yoga camp held at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur from 15.06.18 to 21.06.18 on the occasion of International Yoga Day. The camp was not only about yoga and meditation, it was also an experience that made our students conscious of the world. The camp was programmed in such a way that it included artwork, training, self-development, Guest lectures as well as cultural programs. From the very 1st day, the students took part in the cultural events and mesmerized everyone with their amazing performances. It also includes different kind of training and visits that includes Educational Visit to museum and krishi centre, Mushroom Cultivation, Composting methods, Fish Culture, Handicraft from dry flowers and paper.
The NSS Unit of SSGI organized a One Day Camp on World Literacy Day under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in village Arasnara.In the one day camp, surveys were organized and the villagers were informed about various Government Schemes. The villagers were made aware of the importance of voting by organizing a Rally. After that, the villagers were informed about the symptoms and prevention of Dengue. The Students in Village Arasnara were told about the importance of Literacy through Debates, Games, Dance, and Music.
On 2nd October the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the NSS unit of SSGI organized a one day camp in Village Nandkathi, about 17 km away from the College. Upon reaching the Village the faculty members and volunteers were greeted by the Sarpanch and the Panchs of Nandkathi. They briefed us on the condition and amenities of the Village. After the briefing the unit organized a rally on the topics of Swachhta, volunteers made their way into the streets of the village and conducted the survey under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Some of the Volunteers cleaned the Community Hall of the Village and formed a Kitchen, that cooked food for the many volunteers. A team of Volunteers from the Civil branch of the College conducted a small survey of the Village in which they made a study on the problem of the village. The Camp was ended with a Nukkad Natak that showed the importance of cleanliness and the necessity of staying away and not consuming unhygienic food.
