Department of Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology Engineering was established in the year 1999 with the intake of 60 students at Under Graduate level which later on increased to 120 students in 2007 by AICTE. In 2015 Post Graduate level Program with specialization in Information Technology was approved with intake of 18 students.

Message by HoD

The Information Technology field deals with the application of computers and telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate data, often in the context of a business or other enterprises.Our students have made an indelible mark in the field of Information Technology and made us proud.
Our faculty members are hard-working, qualified and dynamic, whose expertise spans the range of disciplines in Information Technology stream creating a very healthy work-culture. We believe in building career, enriching minds and provide a remarkable experience that lasts for a life time.

Our Objectives

  1. To achieve excellence in education so as to enable students to establish themselves as world-class professionals and empower them with the proficiency and knowledge required to excel in the dynamic field of IT.
  2. To create and disseminate knowledge through teaching, learning, research and develop leadership, teamwork skills and value of commitment to quality, among IT students.
  3. To promote problem based learning in the department to meet requirements of industries

Achievements

  1. Miss.Pooja Pandey, Mr.Udit Mittal, Miss.Rupam Kumari, Miss.Priyanka Kumari of department successfully secured 2nd,3rd,5th,6th th positions in the University Merit List for academic session 2014-15.
  2. Mr.Ankit Kumar Singh pre-final year B.E students secured 2nd position in the event “Crack The code” conducted during the Ojas festival held at BIT Durg during 26th – 27th Feb 2016.
  3. Mr.Ankit Kumar Singh pre-final year B.E students secured 2nd position in the event “War Of Bands” conducted during the NIT,Raipur during 2015-2016.
  4. Miss.Megha Rajput, Miss.Kunika Meshram,Miss.k.Ayushi Naidu completed OCJP certification in 2015.
  5. Mr.Aakash Gupta, Miss.Priyanka Kumari completed ISTQB certification in 2014.
  6. Overall 40 students of department have cracked various campus interviews and got successfully placed at various Organizations till date.

Research Facility

  1. 15 well configured PCs (Lenovo think Centre Dual Core 2nd Generation, 2 GB DDR Ram, 250 GB HDD TFT Screen, Keyboard,Mouse)
  2. Department of I.T. has approved research centre for research program by the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai.
  3. Three separate labs are provided for research work. (Research lab, Software Testing Lab and Biometric Lab)
  4. The Software testing tool is having the facilities of Performance Testing, Regression Testing, Functional Testing,
  5. The Biometric Software is having the facilities of Finger print recognition system, Face recognition and ECG analysis system
  6. 24 Hrs internet facility (Wired + WiFi)
